For people who live in Ontario, Narconon offers OxyContin detox and rehab treatment that is effective and successful, using non–traditional, drug-free methods.

Traditional methods for drug rehab use substitute drugs, and provide incomplete drug detox, that often leaves an addict with cravings and vulnerability to continued drug dependence. Using natural, drug-free methods is the road to full addiction recovery and a new way of life. Part of the comprehensive oxy addiction recovery plan offered by Narconon, includes complete detox methods that uses dry heat sauna combined with nutritional supplements and exercise. When the Narconon detox methods are used, it removes the drug residues from the body and puts an end to physical cravings. Narconon detox methods get addicts really clean, and completely free of drugs.

Residential addiction recovery centers like Narconon Trois-Rivieres, are considered by many to be the best option for people seeking complete addiction recovery. Immersed in surroundings that are tranquil and calming is the perfect environment to assist complete addiction recovery. Using a residential program enables people to relax and focus on the work of addiction recovery, and begin a new way of life.

It is easy to miss the wood for the trees when dealing with drug use and addiction. Lance Armstrong entitles his recent book about his life as an Olympic cyclist, and his heroic struggle overcome cancer – “It is Not About the Bike”. Lance Armstrong’s book is a celebration of life, about facing personal challenge, and overcoming adversity.

Similarly with drug use and addiction it is not about the drugs. Drug use and any other compulsive behavior is just a means to an end, a symptom of problems in our life that we are trying to resolve. Drug use is an indicator that we have problems that need to be resolved.

Non-traditional methods of drug rehabilitation like Narconon‘s, look beyond the issues that relate to drug use and enable people to take a look at themselves, to find out what causes them pain, and provides them with the methods and strategies to create a new and better life. Non-traditional methods for drug rehabilitation don’t focus on ways to avoid drug use, but help a person to create a new life for themselves – in which drug use has no place.

By resolving the underlying tensions and pressures that generate compulsive behavior and drug use, addiction recovery is complete – with no more desire to use drugs, and no continued cravings.

If you live in Ontario, and have become addicted to using OxyContin for relief from pain and tension, there is a better way – tried and tested methods that you can use to overcome your addiction. There are many successful graduates of the Narconon program today who live happy, contented lives – free of addiction, and drug use.

Anyone can achieve full recovery from drug use using natural drug-free methods for detox and rehabilitation. Non-traditional methods for drug rehabilitation will change your life forever – and for the better. People in Ontario, looking for effective oxycontin rehab treatment need look no further than Narconon Trois-Rivières.

A report in the Canadian Family Physician of March 2011 provides some chilling statistics for prescription opioid use in that of 408 people who died in Ontario province in 2006 due to opioid use – 102 received their final prescription before death from a family doctor. More than half of these patients were attending a doctor who is recorded as being a frequent over prescriber of opioid medications.

Opioid medications are easily diverted to illicit use by re-sale of prescription drugs on the street, and theft. There have been reports of pharmacy staff being party to OxyContin theft with a technician in Windsor having illegally diverted around 10,350 OxyContin tablets, by forgery and fraud – making a profit of around $31,000 over a period of several months. According to prosecutors, the street value of these drugs would have been around $184,000. When the employee was caught, in March 2009, he was in the process of exchanging 600 OxyContin pills for $2,000 from a drug dealer.

Government statistics reveal that between 1991 and 2009, oxycodone prescription use in Ontario increased by 900%. Partly driven by drug addicted patients who are not informed, don’t understand that oxycodone is not a drug to use on demand – it is between 1.5 and twice as powerful and addictive as the analgesic narcotic morphine. Partly driven by doctors under pressure to deliver pain relief, without due regard for other options, encouraged by big pharma.

For Ontario the Calgary Herald reports, in February2011, that 1 in 5 Eastern Ontario high school kids have used OxyContin, Percocet or Demerol at least once, without prescription in the past year. Rural and depressed urban areas appear to be those that are the most vulnerable to widespread community drug abuse. People and children raised and living in a drug environment are most likely to take up drug use in response to peer influence.

Cornwall is a centre for community Oxy abuse. Dr Paul Roumeliotis, Chief of Health for the area reports that nine adults and teens have died in the last 18 months, due to OxyContin overdose. What concerns him most is that these people were addicted, yet didn’t seem to be looking for help until brought in as casualties. A significant rise in petty crime and prostitution is noted, people seeking money to feed an Oxy addiction. Oxy is very easy to get hooked on, in some Ontario homes, both parents and children are using Oxy, and are addicted.

Canadians in general now use more opioids per head than any other country except the USA and Belgium with opioid use increasing over the last ten years

People in Ontario have hope of Oxy addiction recovery if they choose drug-free OxyContin addiction treatment centers that releases the body from physical addiction and supports people towards living a drug-free life, after successful detox.

Narconon Trois-Rivieres has a residential Oxy addiction program for Ontario residents who want to end the pain of Oxy addiction and regain a drug-free life.

For more information about the natural drug rehab program of Narconon for OxyContin Addiction Treatment, please call 1-877-782-7409.

New laws are taking effect to curb the availability, or at least track the use of this highly addictive drug. Too many Ontario residents are suffering as a result of OxyContin use, and Toronto may just be leading the way.

In 2003, 100 people who died had OxyContin in their system at the time of death. The population of the greater Toronto area is over 5 million, which means that if 100 people died having Oxy in their system, many more are using the drug on a regular basis, many addicted. Substance abuse centers, such as those run by Narconon, are seeing an increase in the number of OxyContin addiction intakes.

New laws are being initiated to track the purchase and use of OxyContin, which should help to some degree. Of course, drugs bought off the street cannot be tracked. Prescriptions for Oxy, Valium, Codeine, Morphine and Ritalin that are purchased in Ontario will be tracked. It will track the sale and dispense of these drugs, even through private health plans.

Alarmingly, the diversity of those becoming addicted to Oxycodone is increasing. The First Nations communities are being hard hit by injury and death resulting from the use of Oxy. One study, as reported by the CBC, done on the student population in Ontario showed that 1 in 5 teenaged girls admitted using OxyCodone and other Opiod painkillers without a prescription. They often obtained the drugs from their parent’s prescription bottles.

Narconon, a leading rehabilitation center in Canada and the United States, is continuing on the fight to end OxyCodone and OxyContin addiction. They provide drug and alcohol addiction material as well as a successful rehab program. The increase in addictions is alarming, and the news must be spread across Canada and the United States. Drug abuse in Toronto has a high concentration of OxyContin addicts, largely because the drug is so easily and readily prescribed and overused.

Drug abuse in Toronto is not new, but it is increasing at an alarming rate. The newest measures to track the use of OxyContin will undoubtedly help, but more is needed. Friends and loved ones of suspected addicts are urged to find out more about OxyContin addiction and what can be done.

For more information about the OxyContin addiction treatment program of Narconon, please call 1-877-782-7409.

Oxicontin Addiction

OxyContin is a powerfully addictive opioid analgesic, obtained easily on prescription in Ontario for chronic pain relief. People in Ontario can also easily obtain illicit supplies of OxyContin as a “feel good” drug.

Helping a family member to overcome OxyContin addiction calls for family unity, a declaration of war against drugs, whether it be illicit use, or over prescription that is the cause of the problem.

The main issue with OxyContin addiction is that it is insidious. Family members who are using OxyContin on prescription or illicitly, very often don’t notice symptoms of addiction to OxyContin. Their focus is on their physical or emotional pain. Pain goes away when you use OxyContin, depletion of the drug brings on pain. People “top up” with more of the drug. When the “good” effect of OxyCotin wears off, the original pain, and the pain caused by Oxy withdrawal merge into one. The Oxy user becomes addicted, sometimes from the very first dose.

To help a family member to overcome OxyContin addiction might involve dealing with denial. OxyContin feels so “good”, it is after all a government approved prescription drug, and oh, there is the shame and blame that is associated with the stigma of drug addiction. All good reasons for denial; all the more reasons for people to get their thinking straight – and to check in a drug-free OxyContin addiction treatment program near Ontario, such as Narconon Trois-Rivières.

Narconon Trois-Rivieres has the experience, the capacity and strength to assist you in helping a family member to overcome OxyContin addiction completely – to enable a happy drug-free life.

Alternatives for OxyContin addiction treatment, to Narconon in Ontario, range from the induced coma of rapid drug detox (with opioid addicts being at risk of sudden death), to substitute drug programs that only offer symptomatic relief.

Prolonged, perhaps for a lifetime, OxyContin addiction withdrawal, and the constant risk of relapse, happens with substitute drug programs, as a result of continuing symptoms.

Drug-free OxyContin addiction treatment with Narconon Trois-Rivières, for the residents of Ontario, means helping a family member to genuinely overcome OxyContin abuse and regain an addiction free, productive and happy life.

The Narconon OxyContin addiction recovery program starts with drug-free and fully supported detoxification. Then it includes, on a comprehensive basis, a range of courses that offer tools to improve communication and other life skills.

Helping a family member to overcome OxyContin addiction, with Narconon, means working together towards having pain relief at an emotional and physical level without the use of drugs.

With emotional and physical issues resolved, there are no more painful symptoms of withdrawal and no more need for drugs. The Narconon detox is so thorough that it reduces and eliminates drug residues, stored within body fat, that cause and contribute to continued cravings and relapse.

The Narconon drug rehab methods also include a series of practical exercices. These enable people to identify and resolve emotional conflicts and problems that otherwise cause emotional tension and inflict chronic stress, which could lead to relapse.

Helping a family member to overcome OxyContin addiction, using Narconon drug rehab, is more than just a treatment – it is the way to happiness, and contentment in life.

Although they have similar qualities, they are different in their strength and effects, not to mention the side effects. Both are prescription medications, and they are opiates (similar to morphine). Both are usually prescribed in pill form for moderate to severe pain. Sadly, both are also very addictive, especially OxyContin.

Click here to view the embedded video.

OxyContin Addiction Treatment

OxyCodone is an opiate, which is used in conjunction with other medications. It is often combined with Tylenol or ibuprofen. The medications that use OxyCodone are all normally released shortly after swallowing the pill. Pain relief can last from about 4-6 hours. These are prescribed for many people who are enduring pain, such as those who have sustained injuries or after surgery. Although the OxyCodone is mixed with other ingredients, it still can cause addiction. It is prepared with Tylenol or ibuprofen, so taking too much of it induces vomiting.

OxyContin is a brand pharmaceutical, and the ONLY ingredient in it is OxyCodone. Because of this, it is much stronger. It is also designed to be time released, which is why chewing or crushing the tablet is not recommended. Addiction to OxyContin is very common, in fact, there is a public call to reduce the number of OxyContin prescriptions given out by doctors. Once addicted, people will chew or crush the pill (or more likely; open the capsule), in order to get a higher concentration of the drug, and forego the time release feature.

Therefore, OxyContin is pure OxyCodone, whereas OxyCodone is mixed with other analgesics. OxyContin is more addictive, stronger, and is designed to be time released. Those with an addiction usually prefer OxyContin in order to obtain a stronger dosage of the drug. Both are prescription drugs but can also be found sold on the streets. They are considered popular “recreational drugs”. Great care should be used when taking either of these drugs.

Those taking OxyConin or OxyCodone (and their loved ones) should be aware of the dangers and symptoms of addiction. Obviously, opening an OxyContin capsule and snorting the contents is a big indicator. Also, wanting or needing the drug after the pain is gone is another indication that there may be an addiction. People may begin to fake injury in order to try to convince a doctor they need OxyContin. The best way to stop an addiction is never to let it start. Extreme caution should be used with OxyCodone and OxyContin.

Narconon Trois-Rivières offers a very effective OxyContin Addiction Treatment program. Many people from Ontario who were addicted to OxyContin have done our drug rehab program and are now drug-free. Call 1-877-782-7409 for more information on how to get off an OxyContin addiction.

The alcohol addiction recovery program offered by Narconon Trois-Rivieres gets results that effectively end people’s addiction to alcohol. People recovered from alcohol addiction using the Narconon addiction recovery program will no longer need alcohol or use it when driving.

In practical terms, every Narconon Trois-Rivieres graduate from the Narconon Alcohol Rehab program means one less person at risk of driving in breach of drunk driving laws in Canada.

The Narconon Alcohol Rehab program is available for the people of Ontario at their Trois-Rivières residential rehabilitation center. Many people intending to recover from their alcohol addiction find that a residential treatment plan offers them the best option for long-term recovery.

The Narconon residential rehabilitation center for complete addiction recovery offers 100% natural drug free detox to detoxify the body of all traces of alcohol residues.

One of the main causes of people relapsing after any kind of addictive drug use is the presence of toxic drug residues in the body which can be detected long after a person has last taken a dose of the drug or alcohol.

Narconon hopes to curtail drinking and driving in Canada by making Canadian’s who are drinking and driving aware that the Narconon Alcohol Rehab treatment can get them clean of any drugs, including alcohol. Many people who offend DUI mix drug taking and alcohol use – a lethal combination at any time, and particularly so when people then choose to go driving on the road.

The Narconon alcohol and drug addiction recovery program is effective to help people with alcohol and drug problems develop better life skills.

Often, and especially for young people, drinking and driving is a way of acting out their frustration, their anger. Antisocial behavior in young people is really a cry for help. Once recovered fully from addiction, and empowered with new skills, Narconon Trois-Rivieres graduates are proud to return and make a positive contribution to the community.

Narconon Trois-Rivieres says no to drugs and backs up its message “Don’t Drink and Drive” with an alcohol recovery program that gets people free of their addiction.

Click here to view the embedded video.

Also, Narconon uses video PSA’s on YouTube internet to reach out to young people who are drinking and driving to get the message across.

Narconon Trois-Rivieres is proud of its graduates and of its successes – and hopes to see many more in the year 2011.

Narconon means No Narcotics – and Narconon drugs treatment offers no drugs at all. No drugs to “help” with detox, no drugs to “help” with rehab, and upon successful graduation – full recovery from addiction, with no further need of drugs.

Some people say “What! No drugs!”, much like others say “What – no potatoes!”., when on a calorie controlled diet. Narconon believes that a drugs treatment plan should, and needs to be, completely free of drugs use to put an end to dependency and addiction to drugs use.

What is different with the Narconon drugs treatment is that it is natural and comprehensive – with fully monitored and supported, healthy drugs-free detox that invigorates and enables the body to get clean and free of drugs use.

Look forward to a low temperature sauna that helps to purge the body of the toxic residues and the drug metabolites that unless removed can be a cause of relapse. Low temperature sauna has been used to promote good health for centuries, all over the world – it is completely safe. Look forward to getting 100% commitment and support for full recovery from addiction with Narconon drugs treatment.

Narconon drugs treatment uses comprehensive methods that include nutritional supplements to help build up strength and revitalize people ravaged by drug use, whether prescription or illicit.

Narconon Trois-Rivières drugs treatment offers a residential drugs program that provides beautiful surroundings and freedom from stress – a natural and supportive environment that encourages and enables people to become completely free of addiction to drugs and all substance abuse.

Plenty of healthy, refreshing sleep, good food, and moderate exercise – what is different with the Narconon drugs treatment program is that every day marks another success, a personal best on the road to good health and recovery from use of all drugs, and addiction.

Along the road to recovery you are supported by comprehensive counseling. Narconon drugs treatment uses tried and tested methods of counseling that are both effective and thorough.

Narconon drugs treatment enables both body and mind to recover from emotional and physical pain and the patterns of thinking that keep us in the bondage of addiction to drugs.

What is different with the Narconon drugs treatment is that Narconon is there for you. Narconon delivers the latest and best in drug-free drugs treatment – enabling full physical and emotional recovery from addiction to drugs.

<g:plusone size="medium" href="http%3A%2F%2Fnarconon.on.ca%2Ftoronto-rehab%2Fthe-road-to-oxycontin-addiction-by-narconon-trois-rivieres%2F"></g:plusone>

Narconon Trois-Rivières video PSA “The Road to Oxycontin Addiction” tells the story of how easy it can be to get addicted to oxy – a prescription medication, when seeking pain relief.

In 2009, the Toronto Star pushed for an enquiry into Oxycontin addiction and abuse in Ontario, Canada.

The Toronto Star reported that around 500 deaths in Ontario, Canada over the past five years had been caused by Oxycontin addiction, with over $54 million worth of medical prescriptions having been written up for Oxycontin in the previous year.

The then Assistant Deputy Health Minister for Ontario acknowledged that a strategy to tackle the problem was needed. “We need a solution that really helps people – and we need it quickly”, she said.

Cliff Van Rossum, the narrator of the Narconon Trois-Rivières PSA video “The Road To Oxycontin Addiction” graduated in June 2009 from the world renowned Narconon Trois-Rivières drug and alcohol addiction recovery program with flying colors – free of Oxycontin – and addiction.

Click here to view the embedded video.

Cliff, recovered from the injuries that led to him taking Oxycontin, on prescription, for pain relief, now actively promotes public awareness of the risks of Oxycontin addiction and the benefits of Narconon Trois-Rivières Oxycontin rehab.

Cliff is one of the lucky ones.

Many people prescribed oxy for pain relief find that as Oxycontin addiction kicks in, their physical and emotional need for the drug increases. In Canada, oxy can be prescribed in doses from 10mg up 80mg with little or no warning given of the potential for Oxycontin addiction and its potentially lethal side effects.

Oxy is often called “Hillbilly Heroin” because illicit supplies on the street are cheap – the result of over prescription and robbery from pharmacies. Although heroin carries the tag of being highly addictive, a drug to avoid at all costs, Oxycontin addiction is more insidious and possibly more lethal.

People such as Cliff Van Rossum, willing to speak out about their Oxycontin addiction and successful Oxycontin rehab are to be commended.

Narconon Trois-Rivières alcohol and drug addiction recovery programs provide non-judgmental, unconditional support for Oxycontin addiction recovery. Narconon Trois-Rivières Oxycontin rehab is natural and drug-free – with a very high success rate for full recovery.

The Narconon Trois-Rivières PSA video – “The Road to Oxycontin Addiction” give a clear picture on how anyone could fall into the trap of Oycontin addiction.

Heroin is a serious problem that has been around not only for a few decades, but a few centuries. Heroin is one of the strongest addictions one can have, so treatment facilities must be able to address all of the issues involved in helping addicts overcome the drug.

While on the surface, Ontario appears to be a normal city, bustling with working commuters and homemakers going about their business, there is a darker side. Drug use and addiction may be hidden in Ontario, but it is not absent. Heroin addicts in Ontario can be businessmen, homemakers, students or even grandparents. Yes, Heroin addiction is Ontario is very real, but it is also very treatable.

Heroin being one of the strongest addictions doesn’t mean that it can’t be overcome. Heroin addiction in Ontario must be addressed not only by the addict, but the community. Loved ones and others that know Heroin addicts must learn to set boundaries which they will not allow the addict to cross. Zero tolerance must be adopted by everyone surrounding the Heroin addict. Allowing them to hide away with their addictions isn’t going to help anyone. Acknowledging their addiction and even confronting them in the right situations usually cause them to consider rehabilitation and enter a natural drug rehab center such as Narconon Trois-Rivières (Narconon Three-Rivers).

Before any confrontation or intervention takes place, it is recommended that a consultation with a reputable drug addiction center take place. They can give expert advice on how to handle the situation. However, simply telling the Heroin addict that you are aware of their addiction is the first step. Heroin addiction is treatable and loved ones and friends must keep that in mind. Heroin addiction in Ontario has to stop.

Ontario is certainly not the only place that has a population containing Heroin addicts. Cities and provinces around the world have to deal with Heroin addiction. However, Ontario has a good chance of becoming a Heroin free area. The actual percentage of Heroin addicts is relatively small compared to other major cities and provinces. Now is the time to act on Heroin addiction, before the number grows again. Heroin addiction in Ontario is best thwarted by utilizing holistic-like treatment centers like Narconon Trois-Rivières. There is a greater chance of success with natural treatment compared to other methods. Heroin addiction in Ontario can be at the very least reduced significantly by providing adequate care.

Each year, in Toronto, there are more divorces, deaths, injuries and crimes committed directly linked to alcohol and drug use. If you are searching for Toronto rehab, there are a few things to keep in mind, including that it might be worthwhile to look into an outside Toronto rehab, like the drug rehab center Narconon Trois-Rivières (Narconon Three-Rivers).

The Narconon Trois-Rivieres Rehab Center is only a few hours away from Toronto

I’m sure you’ve heard it said, but location matters. Even in drug rehabilitation, the location of the facility is often important. However, that doesn’t mean that the best rehab center has to be in your own town. In fact, just the opposite may be true. It is important, when receiving drug rehabilitation, for the alcoholic or drug addict to be out of their own environment. It is very difficult to try to learn to stay away from drugs and alcohol when it is available just outside the door in your own neighborhood. Perhaps the best Toronto rehab wouldn’t be in Toronto at all. The Narconon rehab center located in Trois-Rivieres (Three-Rivers), Québec is one of those centers; not in Toronto but yet not too far.

It isn’t just what is inside the rehab that matters. What is outside the doors matter very much. Walking out the door of rehab is much easier and distracting when the people you know, who have access to drugs and/or alcohol may be walking by at any moment. The interior of the rehab only offers safety and security when you stay inside. Suppose for a moment that a rehab center with a great reputation and high success rate were located in the Québec province. Would that stop you from getting the help you need? It shouldn’t stop you at all; it may be just what you need.

Toronto rehab in Quebec may seem like an odd possibility, but it is not. If the best center is located away from your own territory, it offers a better chance at your success. It takes you just far enough away so the temptations are not as available. At Narconon Trois-Rivières the scenery is different, the people are different, and you can become a different person as well. You can learn to put aside the alcohol or drugs and be happy and healthy. You can relax and concentrate on helping yourself to be the person you want to be, and can be. You can return to Toronto with a new lease on life and be ready to face life without an addiction. Leaving Toronto for rehabilitation may be the best decision you’ll ever make, but you won’t know until you try.
